Housebuilders fall on media report UK will not extend stamp duty threshold hike
** UK housebuilders' index .FTNMX402020 falls 2%, with all constituents in the red
** UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves will not extend increase in stamp duty threshold in the impending budget, according to a report by The Times published on Thursday after market
** The property tax benefit, introduced by the Tories, is slated to end in March next year, adding about 2,500 pounds ($3,261.50) to the average home purchase, the report says
** The Times report said UK budget on Oct. 30 will confirm that the scheme will come to an end in March, meaning there will be a significant rise in costs for buyers, and the approach is expected to raise 1.8 bln pounds a year by 2029-30
** FTSE 100 .FTSE builders Barratt Redrow BTRW.L, Vistry VTYV.L, Taylor Wimpey TW.L, Persimmon PSN.L and Berkeley BKGH.L decline between 1.3% and 2.2%
** Midcap player Bellway BWY.L top pct loser in sector index, declining 4%
